Jonathan and Dextra
The protagonist in Flight of the Owl is Jonathan Swain (Jenda’s brother) and for much of his journey recounted in this third volume of Recall Chronicles he is accompanied by a Hopi woman, Dextra Honanie. To better understand the character of Dextra, I made a journey of my own to the Hopi reservation in Arizona earlier this year to discuss my work with a number of residents there. I hope my rendering of Dextra is believable and respectful. I did my best.
